Golf Studio vs OnForm: which golf video app should you use?

Golf Studio's editor with a club tracer and a scorecard over a golf swing

We make Golf Studio. Everything here about OnForm comes from its UK App Store page and its website, checked on 29 September 2026. Prices change; check the App Store before you buy.

OnForm and Golf Studio both film and play back golf swings, but they're built for different people. OnForm is a video coaching platform for many sports, used by coaches and the players they teach. Golf Studio is a swing journal for golfers practising on their own. Here's how they compare.

Where OnForm is better

For coaches, it isn't close. OnForm manages players, messages, group broadcasts and lesson bookings, with voice-overs that it transcribes and summarises. If you teach golf, it's built for you.

Capture and measurement. Filming at 240 frames a second from several angles, 3D skeleton tracking and club-head tracking, a kinematic sequence, and links to launch monitors and pressure mats put OnForm in a different class for technical analysis.

Everywhere you work. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and in a browser.

Where Golf Studio is better

Free, for a player on their own. OnForm's plans for players without a coach start at £4.99 a month. Golf Studio costs nothing.

The ball and the rhythm. Golf Studio draws your ball's flight with a shot tracer and times your swing tempo with a score out of 100. OnForm does neither.

Your whole game. Golf Studio keeps your swings in a journal by the day you played, tracks your scores round by round, and turns your best shots into reels for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

Privacy. No account, nothing uploaded. OnForm syncs to the cloud, which is how a coach sees your swings.

Which should you choose?

  • You're a coach, or your coach uses OnForm: OnForm. Players connected to a coach record and share free.
  • You practise on your own and want your ball flight, your tempo and a record of your golf, free: Golf Studio.
